The Innovation Diploma Certificate is designed to produce technically competent manpower to meet the National requirements in the areas of Telecommunication Technology

Objective:

A product of NID in Telecommunication Technology should be able to:

  1. Assemble, Install and test run telecommunication system.
  2. Carry out routine/preventive and corrective maintenance on telecommunication system.
  3. Operate telecommunication systems and installations with appropriate software whenever the need arises.
  4. Troubleshoot and repair faulty telecommunication systems with basic diagnostic tools and equipments.
  5. Carry out supervision of installation projects on telecommunication systems.
  6. Start small and medium scale enterprises that would provide ICT solutions.
  7. Assist in the management and administration of telecommunication networks for optimum utilization.
  8. Design and build simple telecommunication systems.

Tenure

This programme is expected to be in form of term/session-based training courses of not less than 2 years for full time and 3 for part-time.

Entry Requirements

The general entry requirements for the NID program are:

  • a. Five credits in Mathematics, Physics, English and, any other two subjects from the following: Technical Drawing, Basic Electricity, Further Mathematics OR 
  • b .National Vocational Certificate (NVC) in any of the approved related trades or craft
